Sápmi Awards is an annual event to praise the sámi culture and traditions. Artists compete within music, sámi food, duodji, design and reindeer herding.
Vegard won the Sápmi Awards 2013 food category, claiming fame, honor and the NOK 100.000 award.

In cooperation with Shea-Arne Engevik Tinja Mountain Lodge will brew and sell our very own brand of beer.
Awaiting the license, Tinja and Shea-Arne Engevik will set up a microbrewery in the basement of Tinja Mountain Lodge.

Sunday 21th November there will be an Open Day at Tinja Mountain Lodge. We will serve Tinja’s Christmas Plate, waffles, rice pudding, cakes and coffee. We have also got homemade pastries and crafts. For the children, there might also be a chance to meet Santa Clause. You are all very welcome between 11:00 and 17:00!
We offer a friendly and relaxed Christmas Party for you and your company, group, friends and family. You can choose a minimum of three dishes from our tempting menu consisting of up to ten dishes. We can organize everything – from transport to polar night trips in lavvos with wine or aperitif. With northern lights in the sky and coffee avec by the fire, you might experience a magical mood. We congratulate our co-worker, Frank Kristoffersen, with third place in the «Arktisk kokk»-competition («Arctic chef»-competition) in Bodø 23.09.2010. This year’s raw materials were stock fish as starter, reindeer beef and Mack «Bok» beer as main course and sago and lingonberry as dessert. The competition was held during the conference «Arena Nord» in collaboration with «Innovasjon Norge», «Macks Ølbryggeri» og «Nordlands Fylkeskommune».
Saturday 26th og Sunday 27th of November we will have a Lavvu in the center of Narvik in connection with the city’s pre-Christmas market. There will be a variety of stalls and an open café serving coffee, waffles, dinner and hot dogs. On Saturday evening, there will be an open lavvu with service and a band. On Sunday, the market finishes with lightning of the Christmas tree outside the city hall.
Tinja Mountain Lodge, with chief cook Vegard Stormo (in the middle of the photo), won the chef duel at Nordnorsk Matfestival («Northern Norwegian Food Festival») Saturday 11.09.2010 in Målselv. Stormo competed against last year’s winners from Vollan Gjestestue («Vollan Guesthouse») to make the best dish with focus on fish and vegetables. The use of Norwegian ingredients was emphasized together with harmony, taste and appearance of the dish. The judges came from the chef team in Narvik and Harstad.
We offer free accommodation for children in September. Additionally, the age limit has been raised to 15 years, meaning that all children under 16 stays free at Tinja Mountain Lodge! The offer applies for up to 1 child per paying adult, both weekdays and weekends.
