Activities/Experiences

We recommend you to combine a stay at Tinja with an activity or an experience package. An additional activity will make your stay even more rewarding. In collaboration with Narvik Opplevelser, Helitrans, Polar Zoo and Susanne Palm we have arranged experience packages which include the most popular sights in the area. These are experiences that will give you memories for life!

Fjord safari: We can offer you an exciting guided tour on the fjord with war story, sea eagle safari or perhaps just a sightseeing tour to Rombaksbotn. The excursion can be combined with outdoor serving, lavvu, snorkling, hiking, helicopter trips and more.

Hiking: Together with our cooperation partner, the mountain guide Susanne Palm, we offer half and full day hiking trips in combination with serving and/or accommodation at Tinja Mountain Lodge. The half day trips go to destinations in vicinity of the lodge.

Climbing: Together with our climbing instructor,Susanne Palm,
we offer climbing trips in combination with serving and/or accommodation at Tinja. Lack of experience is no obstacle,
since you will get basic instruction and training. For more information, follow the link.

Helidining: Combine a delicious lunch or a four course dinner with a spectacular sightseeing over the fiord and mountains of the inner parts of Ofotfjorden. Get picked up by the helicopter wherever you want and arrive at the door steps of Tinja Mountain Lodge.

Helizoo: Experience the amazing nature around Tinja and the arctic wildlife in the world’s northernmost zoo, Polar Zoo, by taking a short helicopter trip across or around the mountain. Here, you can experience socialized wolves at close range, lynxes, bears and other arctic animals. It is possible to go by minbus.

Heliskiing: In April/May, you can get a private helicopter lift and mountain guide who knows where to find the best places for off-track, downhill skiing and snowboarding. Within a few days, you can enjoy the silence and tasteful dinners at Tinja in addition to the greatest downhill adventures in the nearby wilderness.

Helifishing: By helicopter from Tinja during July/August, you can explore an endless number of lakes and rivers. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner before you leave for your preferred area. Afterwards, you return to the lodge where you will get an extraordinary dinner and drinks.

Train along the railway Ofotbanen: Enjoy a delicious breakfast at Tinja before being transported to the end of Ofotbanen in Narvik or Riksgränsen in Sweden. From here, you can go by train past the exciting Rombaksfjorden. You can also combine the travel with a guided walk through the historical Rombaksbotn or perhaps a trip with RIB or helicopter. Eventually, you can end your day with a gourmet dinner and accommodation at Tinja.

• Visit one or all four of the ski resorts in the nearby area

• Cultural-historical wandering in the nearby area of the Lodge
• Courses: in cooking, wine, baking, herbs, plant dyeing and more
• Accommodation outside in the lavvu or a tent, with serving
• Snowshoe wandering with or without serving
• Climbing and abseiling
• Guided hunting, fishing and mountain trips
• Snowmobile safari
• Eventually exhibitions, arts and crafts

We have also got a minibus for up to 8 passengers, which makes it possible for us to offer transport between the ourdoor activites and Tinja. The minibus can also be used if you are going on a boat og helicopter trip.
